Craig Redman, one half of the international design duo Craig & Karl, got to know Colossal while going after jobs with us. When Percent for Art and the School Construction Authority tapped Redman for a mural at PS 376 in Queens, he gave us a call.
“Because this project was so complicated, with so many different agencies involved, it was good to work with guys who knew exactly what they were doing.”
The piece speaks to the endless possibilities made possible with education. The circle at the center represents a single student. The elements surrounding it are family, school, and the community, which come together to nurture and build the student. The angular movements reaching across the ceiling are education, which helps the student reach their fullest potential in the wider world.
