In Cheetos’ second viral Colossal mural, the snack brand came to Colossal for another Super Bowl teaser. We tricked the campaign out with the first-ever painted wall extension. The giant hand, of actress Mila Kunis, reaching beyond the boundaries of the wall showed the mischievous lengths people will go to snag the new Cheetos Crunch Pop Mix.
Our wall got mad love online and on the streets, while the Super Bowl commercial quickly became an Adweek Top 10 hit.
In preparation for the campaign launch, Cheetos stocked nearby bodegas with its unreleased Crunch Pop Mix. The Snapcode call to action, “scan to ‘steal’ the bag,” resulted in all 9,500 bags being redeemed, ending the sweepstakes in its first day live.
With nothing left to be redeemed, in an unheard-of, hand-paint first, Cheetos called on Colossal to paint over the sweepstakes Snapcode.
