Partnering with Colossal in a citywide takeover, Red Bull Music Academy pioneered a five-week festival of events at the city’s most renowned music venues. Informing the public of its vast bill of lectures, concerts, and club nights was no easy feat: over the course of 34 nights, RBMA hosted 38 shows featuring 236 of today’s most innovative minds.
Colossal painted 18 RBMA murals in New York City, hitting virtually every corner at the same time so that music fans saw different paint crews at multiple points throughout their days. The domination and unique live activation created an unavoidable energy.

Since our first collaboration in 2012, we’ve continued to champion the Red Bull message, grabbing public attention through event promotion and classic outdoor campaigns elevated as murals. Every year we gear up to cover New York City walls for the Music Academy festival, painting major label artists and indie darlings like A$AP Rocky and FKA Twigs.
To date, we’ve painted roughly 100 walls for the energy drink giant. The partnership recently exploded beyond New York City — we covered Red Bull Sound Select’s 30 Days in L.A. and have hand painted advertisements in major markets like Denver, Tampa, and Boston.
