Colossal got the mother of all calls from the co-founder of Culture Corps, an offshoot of the Art Production Fund. They entrusted Colossal with replicating the work of renowned artist and Brooklyn native Alex Katz for a massive Texas mural. Given Katz’s gravitational pull in the fine art world, Colossal was honored to work with this creative legend for the second time around. In re-creating this blue-chip masterpiece, Colossal collaborated with Katz’s studio to deliver pristine color matches on more than 33,000 square feet of wall. The gargantuan canvas required custom rigging to guarantee painter access for the florals that would dress the wall.
